As a recent empty nester myself, I get a lot of satisfaction out of helping others transition to a home that’s better suited to their new needs. I know plenty of people who think they have to maintain the old homestead for visits from the kids. But the reality is there are real cost benefits to downsizing. In fact, I don’t think of it as downsizing. I think of it as “right sizing”. You’ll have more money in your pocket, and more time for the things you enjoy… like biking, boating, hiking, tennis, or just relaxing. Maybe you even have a lake house in mind. Enjoy this new stage of life. You’ve earned it!
